SS Tiger B500 CWR
B500 CWR TMT Bar
“SS TIGER B500 CWR TMT” is produced as per BDS ISO 6935-2: 2016, its carbon levels
are maintained to ensure required standard, quality and specification that are expected.
Thus SS TIGER B500 CWR TMT re-bars have excellent ductility, high bendability, better corrosion
resistance and superior weldability. Other unwanted impurities (like Sulphur and
Phosphorus) that impair the overall longevity of re-bars inside constructions are also
maintained at much lower than specifications. We also produce Grade-B400 DWR/60G as
per BSTI standard which quality also matches with the expected standards of the code.

SS TIGER B500CWR TMT exclusive method of manufacturing creates a combination of strength and ductility that exceeds the minimum limit specified in the standard BDS. In the yield strength for SS TIGER B500CWR, though the standard specifies a minimum of 500 N/mm2, designers use this value for design; the typical values are around 575 N/mm2. For the same product, the typical value of ductility as measured by elongation is near by 16% minimum as against the standard value of 14% minimum. Undoubtedly, the TS/YS ratio and percentage of elongation are important properties in a re-bar that reflects the ability to handle the pressure of earthquakes. The higher these values, the better it is.
N.B.: Elongation at minimum force 8%.

- SS TIGER B500CWR are high strength re-bars with better elongation properties implying that you can economize steel consumption without sacrificing safety.
- SS TIGER B500CWR has more superior weldability than conventional deformed bars due to its low carbon content; it can be built-welded or lap-welded using ordinary electrodes.
- SS TIGER B500CWR rib patterns on the re-bar surface can give quality bonding with concrete.
- Lower %S, %P, %Cr and % Cu content makes the re-bars more durable and weather resistant.
- Due to its exclusive combination of strength and ductility, SS TIGER B500CWR can adequately support a seismic design with the pressure of earthquakes.
- SS TIGER B500CWR maintains the standard Ratio (UTS / YS).
- Extraordinary microstructure of SS TIGER B500CWR results in the re-bar’s excellent bendability.
- SS TIGER B500CWR exclusive quality of elongation displays better bending properties without crack.

TMT Bars Have following properties
Fire Resistance
As compared to Tor steel, “SS Steel” TMT bars have high thermal stability and therefore can withstand on elevated temperatures.
Strain Aging
Due to unique manufacturing process and chemical composition, “SS Steel” TMT bars shows no tendency of embitterment either through welding or cold deformation of the welding joints.
Earthquake Resistance
SS Steel TMT Bars strength and ductility are sufficient to make it earthquake resistant. With a yield strength ranging from 415 N/mm2 to 500 N/mm2, Prakash TMT ensures the required strength for a safe home.
Corrosion Resistance
Controlled water cooling prevents the formation of the carbide which has been cited as a main cause for corrosive nature of the TMT bars. “SS Steel” TMT ensures the required corrosion resistance through its manufacturing process.
Weldability
Due to its low carbon content SS TIGER B500 CWR Bars have better weldability which is superior to ordinary re-bars. It can be butt-welded or lap-welded using ordinary retile coated electrodes of matching strength. In manual welding, no pre-warming or post-welding treatment is necessary.
Bendability
The special microstructure of SS TIGER 500W results in a re-bar with excellent bendability. The bar can be bent easily and sharply. SS TIGER B500 CWR can bend to the exact angle required unlike ordinary re-bars as desired by the design around mandrels and is much smaller in diameter than what is specified in BDS ISO 6935:2 – 2006. .
